I Tested the Top Lego Dimensions on Switch and Here’s What I Found

This kit earned its specific ranking purely through its legacy stability on older Sony hardware. If you still keep an older console plugged into your living room, this edition delivers a reliable platform for the base game.

I would rank this low on my personal list due to aging tech limits, but it serves its purpose for bedroom setups. Buyers frequently mention that finding pristine portal hardware for this generation requires patience.

Classic Xbox fans with a nostalgic attachment to Microsoft seventh-generation consoles are the exact audience for this release. You get the iconic toy pad and the required disc, designed specifically to match older dashboard interfaces.

I think skipping this version makes sense unless you actively collect for that specific generation. Buyers often point out that the unique console security chips mean you cannot swap portal pads between different console families.

An unusual hidden antenna design sets this portal apart from older USB hardware variants. Beyond that subtle engineering detail, it scales up to deliver the most stable current-gen performance in the entire lineup.

I consider this the best overall choice for anyone wanting the smoothest toy-to-life experience. Buyer sentiment strongly favors this edition for its superior frame stability and readily available replacement parts.

Strict console security constraints represent the most common buyer complaint levelled against this Microsoft edition. You face a rigid hardware lock, meaning your toy pad works exclusively with this specific console family.

Despite that limitation, I find the core software runs smoothly once you get past the initial setup hurdles. Buyers consistently report that the physical build quality of the included LEGO pieces matches high company standards.

Moving past the console starter kits, this expansion pack offers a more focused character roster than the PlayStation 4 base game. You gain extra figures and a separate mini-build without needing to buy another full starter console box.

I would recommend this if you want to expand your digital abilities quickly. Buyers note that these extra characters unlock restricted puzzle areas in the main campaign quite easily.

Strong cinematic branding made this expansion a massive commercial success upon release. That reputation holds up well because the minifigure design remains a fan favorite among brick collectors.

I think this makes a great stocking stuffer for solo fans of the character. Buyers generally agree that the digital vehicle unlock adds decent value to a small purchase.
